The most prestigious rugby competition in the world is now underway, as England suffered its biggest-ever defeat thanks to France’s magnificent performance at Twickenham.

The event, which will take place as usual between early February and mid-March, will consist of five weeks of intense competition and mark the beginning of what is anticipated to be an exciting year of top-tier international rugby.

The current Six Nations competition is in its 24th edition and was started in 2000 after Italy joined the previous Five Nations.

In 1883, England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales competed in the first Home Nations Championship, which served as the tournament’s first year.

There are still many scores to be resolved in this year’s edition as we prepare to begin another magnificent season, and all six nations will have their sights set on the World Cup later in 2023.

What is the scoring structure for Six Nations 2023?

In addition to the regular scoring of four points for victories, two for ties, and zero for losses, there are additional points available.

If a team scores four or more tries in a game, it will receive a bonus point. In addition, a team gets an extra point if they lose by less than seven points.

A winning team may thus receive four or five points, whereas a losing team may only receive one or two points.

In the Six Nations, what is a Grand Slam?

There is yet another method for increasing your score. If a team completes a “Grand Slam,” winning all five of its games, they are awarded three extra points. In 12 of the last 22 Six Nations competitions, this has been accomplished.
